The current state of infestation of soils under vegetable and perennial crops, as well as cultivated plants, by plant nematodes in the Absheron region has been studied for the first time in 40 years, and the main routes of their spread have been identified. It was established that the root-knot nematode species Meloidogyne arenaria (Neal, 1889; Chitwood, 1949) and Meloidogyne incognita (Kofoid et White, 1919; Chitwood, 1949), which are widespread and form galls on plant roots, as well as cyst-forming nematode species belonging to the genus Heterodera, are distributed in the region.
