İnstitute of Petrochemical Processes named after Academician Yusif Mammadaliyev held the next meeting on January 18 at ANAS Presidium.

     Firstly, President of ANAS, academician Akif Alizadeh informed on issues on the agenda.

     The event considered the issue of scientific and scientific-organizational activities of the Division of Chemical Sciences  of ANAS for 2018. Scientists of scientific institutions and organizations of the Division informed on the obtained important scientific results.

     Then, Academician-Secretary of the Division, academician Vagif Farzaliyevreported that, the scientific institutions of the Division in their activities for the 2018 relied on government programs. Speaking about the implementation of the state programs, scientist spoke in detail about the work done in accordance with the “State Program for the Development of Industry in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2015-2020”, “State Program for the Social and Economic Development of Regions of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2014-2018”, “State Program for the Implementation of the National Strategy for the Development of the Information Society in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2016-2020”.

      In 2018, was carried out the research work on 43 topics covered 12 issues, 2 topics have already been completed. He added that, the scientific institutions of the department and higher educational institutions of the republic received 14 important scientific results in the field of basic scientific research. The speaker said that 4 works of an applied nature, which were proposed by scientific institutions, were tested in various organizations, positive results were obtained. Academician-Secretary also added that, in 2018, institutes of the Division received 30 republican patents and 33 grants.

      Speaking on training, academician noted that, 45 doctoral students and 56 PhDs are trained in the departments of the Division for the training of PhD students of philosophy and 33 doctoral students and 30 candidates for dissertation at the training program of doctors of science. Vagif Farzaliyev said that, 24 theses for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy and 6 theses for the degree of Doctor of Science were defended in scientific institutions, 13 works are ready for defense. He added that, in the reporting year on the basis of the state order in the magistracy received 15 people.

     Speaking about publishing, the speaker noted that, 1 book and 9 monographs prepared by institute employees published 258 articles in impact-factor journals, 130 of which were published in the journals included in the Clarivate Analytics database; 1147 articles and abstracts were also published, 488 were published abroad.

      Then, were held discussions on report. By the decree of the Presidium, important scientific results obtained at ANAS Division of Chemical Sciences were included in the annual report of the Academy, were given instructions aimed to improving the level of research and teaching activities in the field of chemical sciences, personnel training, etc.
