Within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation signed between the Institute of Botany of ANAS and the Botanical Garden and Botanic Museum Berlin-Dahlem (BGBM, Germany), during the second stage of the project “Developing Tools for Conserving the Plant Diversity of the South Caucasus”, modern research is being conducted to study and determine the phylogenetic origin of the genera Scutellaria L. and Pyrus L. (wild pear) common in the flora of Azerbaijan.
PhD student of the Institute Ayten Fatdayeva, a participant of this international project, takes training in a specialized course on molecular plant phylogenetics at the University of Berlin (Freie Universität Berlin, Germany), and also continues research work at the molecular level (genus Pyrus L.).
