Institute of Botany expands its international ties

Members of the US Botanical Gardens Plant Collaboration - Director of the Chicago Botanical Garden, Dr. Philip Douglas and Professor of the Swiss University of Agrarian Sciences Henrik Sjöman visited the Institute of Botany of ANAS.

The purpose of the visit was to discuss joint projects in the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Institute of Botany of ANAS and Botanical Gardens Plant Cooperation in 2017.

During the meeting with the director of the Institute of Botany, academician Valida Alizadeh, the guests were informed about the enterprise's international projects and research activities.

The guests also got acquainted with the laboratories operating at the Institute and the Herbari Foundation.

During the visit, a joint expedition was conducted with the participation of foreign scientists to observe the “Quercus castaneifolia” and “Parrotia persica” species of trees in the forest ecosystem of Lankaran.

At the end of the workshop, organized by the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of the Institute of Botany, the guests had introduced their research results to the youth.
