ANAS discusses prospects of cooperation with Eurasian member countries of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research

Presidium of ANAS held a meeting on the topic "Prospects for Cooperation with Eurasian Member States of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR).”

Initially, the event participants met with the President of ANAS, academician Ramiz Mehdiyev.

Speaking about the role of ANAS in the implementation of the scientific policy pursued by President Ilham Aliyev, academician Ramiz Mehdiyev spoke about the reforms that have been carried out in ANAS recently. Noting that there is a need for an even greater expansion of relations between scientific organizations of Azerbaijan and Russia, as well as CIS member states, academician Ramiz Mehdiyev emphasized the prospects of cooperation with the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, which is a world-famous scientific center and combines the successful integration of fundamental and experimental research, as well as the application of the most advanced technologies. The academician expressed his confidence that the meeting will further expand scientific ties.

Then the first deputy minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Academician Grigory Trubnikov said that recently, scientific ties with ANAS have expanded significantly. Highly appreciating the scientific cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan, the Deputy Minister spoke about various scientific projects that have been implemented in Russia in recent years.

The director of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, academician Viktor Matveev and the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan at JINR, corresponding member of Ergazy Kenzhin spoke about the prospects of cooperation.

Then a meeting was held on the topic “Prospects for Cooperation with Eurasian Member States of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR)”.

Opening the event, President of ANAS, academician Ramiz Mehdiyev praised the scientific ties between Azerbaijan and Russia. Academician Grigory Trubnikov, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, spoke about the prospects for mutual scientific cooperation between the two countries and noted the special significance of the event held in ANAS.

In his speech, the Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan Firudin Gurbanov also emphasized that it is necessary to further develop the existing scientific ties between the states.

Director of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, academician Viktor Matveev, director of the Institute of Physics of ANAS, academician Nazim Mammadov, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan at JINR, corresponding member Ergazy Kenzhin, academician Adil Garibov, representative of Uzbekistan Anver Inoyatov, Deputy Head of Finance JINR Economic Management, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Mikhail Vasiliev and others.

Then an exchange of views was carried out, relevant proposals were listened.

In conclusion, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan and the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research.

The meeting was attended by members of the ANAS Presidium, rectors of higher educational institutions, ambassadors of a number of countries, plenipotentiaries of foreign countries and media representatives.
