Scientific-practical conference "Fundamental and applied scientific research in Zoology: current issues, achievements and innovations"

An online scientific-practical conference on "Fundamental and applied scientific research in Zoology: current issues, achievements and innovations" dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the Institute of Zoology of ANAS and the 100th anniversary of academician Musa Musayev was held on October 6.
The event brought together the Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ph.D. Vugar Karimov, Rector of Azerbaijan State Agrarian University, corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Ibrahim Jafarov, Director of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Veterinary Research Institute, Ph.D. Siyala Rustamova, Director of the Scientific Research Institute of Medical Prevention of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ph.D., Professor Adil Allahverdiyev, Head of the Animal Health Department of the Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ph.D. Galib Abdulaliyev, as well as directors of a number of scientific institutions included in the Department of Biological and Medical Sciences of ANAS, as well as representatives of other relevant government agencies.


Opening the conference, Acting Director of the Institute of Zoology of ANAS Ph.D. Aladdin Eyvazov greeted the participants and wished success to the conference. First of all, he spoke about the Second Karabakh War and how the 20 percent of our lands were liberated thanks to the heroic sons of the homeland. Aladdin Eyvazov, who wished God's mercy to our martyrs and healing our veterans, then provided detailed information about the scientific activities of the Institute of Zoology and acad. Musa Musayev. Representatives of various institutions shared their memories of the outstanding acad. Musa Musayev, spoke about his professional business discipline and wonderful human qualities. They stressed that the memory of Musa Musayev, a director of the Institute of Zoology for almost half a century, a zoologist-parasitologist and protozoologist, a wide-ranging biologist, a well-known scientist in veterinary medicine, will always live in the hearts of those who knew him. The speakers also noted the importance of cooperation between the enterprises and the Institute of Zoology, and said they were looking forward to future research in the liberated territories of Karabakh.


The event continued with a presentation of lectures by highly qualified staff, who have conducted research in various areas of Zoology. The speakers informed about the results of their research on various topics and answered the questions of the participants.
