Yagut Yusifova, the senior laboratory assistant of the “Mycology” department of the Instituteof Botanyof ANAS completed her mission to Karachi University in Pakistan within the framework of the “COMSTECH consortium excellence scholarship” program. Y. Yusifova conducted studies on the project “Study of xylotroph mushrooms of medicinal importance during her mission. During research conducted under the guidance of Dr. Atia-tul-Wahab at the Biotransformation Laboratory of the University of Karachi the young researcher studied the biologically active substances in the mushroom species and their antifungal and antimicrobial activity, as well as mastered the methods of Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC), High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), NMR and Mass Chromatography. Y. Yusifova participated in 2 international symposiums, 1 international conference and 1 international seminar during her mission. She participated in the 15th International Symposium on Chemistry of Natural Products, organized by the University of Karachi, with a poster presentation on “Biologically active substances of wild mushrooms”. She also participated in the international symposium on “Digital Technologies for the Future World” organized by COMSTECH in Islamabad.At the Khairpur international conference organized by Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur she delivered a report on "Preliminary evaluation of biologically active substances of wild mushrooms by TLC”.
