The integration of science and education is one of the important directions of the reforms carried out in the Botany Institute of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The Institute of Botany constantly contributes to students' internships, the organization of various educational meetings, and the increase of scientific knowledge in the teaching process.

Ilkana Mammadova and Khadija Abdulhamidli, students of the 11th grade of secondary school No. 11 of Sheki city, together with their chemistry teacher Khatira Shabaddinova, visited the Botany Institute of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The general director of the Institute, doctor of biological sciences Professor Sayyara Ibadullayeva, gave some scientific recommendations on the purchase of minerals and pastes from plants and invited the students to take advantage of the scientific environment and experience of the Institute. The professor emphasized the importance of such exchange of experiences in order to increase students' interest in biological science and noted that the continuation of this tradition in the coming years is one of the goals set by the Institute of Botany.

The students, together with Elvin Karimli, who is considered to be a sufficiently experienced specialist in the field of obtaining biologically active substances from plants in the Ethnobotany Department of the Institute, conducted an experiment related to the treatment methods of certain diseases using the ethnobotanical method. During the practice, the students learned the methods of obtaining biologically active substances from medicinal plants widely distributed in the flora of Azerbaijan, mastering practical laboratory skills, as well as the methods of applying and using the obtained biologically active substances in folk medicine and the field of pharmacy.
