04.07.2024

Scientific research works are continued under the agreement between the Institute of Botany, MSE RA and the Scientific Research Institute of Fruit and Tea Growing of the Ministry of Agriculture. In accordance with the scientific research plan of the Institute of Botany, employees of the Department of Experimental Botany, PhDs in Biology Rena Ganiyeva, Gulnar Sultanova, Sevil Dadashova and Gulnara Babayeva visited the Scientific Research Institute of Fruit and Tea Growing on an expedition.

The purpose of the expedition was to study the effects of macrolactone compounds and saponins, which have high biological activity against viral and fungal pathogenic infections in plants, and to conduct joint research in the direction of the application of antibiotics and antioxidants in the prevention of diseases and viruses in various species of plants.

Scientists have conducted research in fruit experimental field No. 12 under the Ministry of Agriculture to study the positive effect of INFANVIR and saponin preparations against diseases (viruses) in fruit trees. The purpose of the work is to offer wide opportunities for the use of the newly developed INFANVIR drug in the field of agriculture.

The obtained results were carried out with the help of a number of modern tests of biochemistry (DNA extraction, PCR reaction and gel electrophoresis method). The results of the research will be reflected in a number of articles in the future.

During the visit, scientists visited the Guba branch of Azerbaijan Pedagogical University. During the meeting, the rector of the university, doctor of physics-mathematical sciences, associate professor Yusif Aliyev introduced the scientists to the scientific and teaching-methodical work carried out at the university.

Opportunities for cooperation with the Institute of Botany were discussed, relevant proposals were put forward for conducting joint scientific research.
