Dr. Atia-tul-Vahab, Professor of Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research, International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences, University of Karachi visited the Institute of Botany. Dr., professor Sayyara Ibadullayeva, General Director of the Institute gave information to the guest about scientific-research directions, international relations, joint projects and achievements of the Institute of Botany. Professor Dr. Muhammad İqbal Choudhary, Coordinator General COMSTECH joined the discussions in a hybrid format. Mutual discussions were held in order to strengthen cooperation between the Institutes. It was also decided to hold a joint conference in Pakistan in December this year. It should be noted that prof. Dr. Atia-tul-Vahab closely collaborates with Dr. Dilzara Aghayeva, Head of the Department of Mycology and Primitive Plants of the Institute towards the research of biologically active substances of medically important mushrooms since 2018. Two junior researchers of the mycology laboratory are working on doctoral theses in this direction. Among them, Yagut Yusifova participated in a nine-month training program at the Karachi University at the expense of the COMSTECH grant. Publications of the results achieved on the conducted researches were widely discussed.
