An event commemorating the 35th anniversary of the January 20 tragedy was held at the Institute of Botany, MSERA. The event participants observed a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs.

Speakers at the event described the events of January 20, written in blood in the memory of our people, as the heroic history of our people, drew attention to the tense socio-political situation that had developed in Azerbaijan on the eve of these events, the wave of protests that erupted in connection with Armenia's unfounded territorial claims and attempts to separate Nagorno-Karabakh from Azerbaijan, the cunning policy of former Soviet leaders towards our people and other important points.

A documentary film about the tragedy of January 20 was shown.

The staff of the Institute of Botany visited the Alley of Martyrs and paid tribute to those who gave their lives for the country's freedom.
