An article co-authored by botanists was published in a prestigious journal

The article "Three new moss records from Azerbaijan", co-authored by employees of the Institute of Botany, MSERA (professor Sayyara Ibadullayeva, associate professor Aygun Mammadova, Narmin Sadiqova), Karadeniz Technical University of the Republic of Turkey (professor Nevzat Batan, Zeynep Gizem) and Gumushane University (associate professor Huseyin Erata), was published in the Bangladesh Journal of Plant Taxonomy.

According to the article as a result of a bryological expedition conducted in the Tuqay Forest and Dilman Forest of Azerbaijan, new species of mosses (Splachnum ampullaceum Hedw., Sphagnum capillifolium (Ehrh.) Hedw. and Plagiothecium cavifolium (Brid.) Z. Iwats) were discovered for the first time . .  Splachnum is a new genus for the bryophyte flora of Azerbaijan. The article provides brief descriptions of the genus, illustrative and anatomical images, geographical distribution, ecological characteristics, and a comparative analysis with morphologically similar species.
