From November 21 to 23, 2025, the III International Apitherapy and Nature Congress was held in Baku at the Institute of Botany of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The III International Apitherapy and Nature Congress was jointly organized by the Institute of Botany of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Nakhchivan State University, Karadeniz Technical University, and Gümüşhane University, Turkey. Along with participants from Azerbaijan, invited researchers from a number of foreign countries also took part in the congress.
First held in 2023 in the Nakhchivan AR and in 2024 in Trabzon, Turkey, the congress was organized for the third time in Baku. The main objective of the III International Apitherapy and Nature Congress was to bring together researchers in the fields of apitherapy (honey, propolis, royal jelly, venom, etc.) and nature-based sciences, to conduct scientific discussions, to develop mutual cooperation, to contribute to the formation and development of new scientific projects, and to build international scientific networks by gathering scientists working in apitherapy and nature from around the world on a single platform.
The congress was attended by prominent scientists, specialists, and researchers in the fields of apitherapy and phytotherapy from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Pakistan, Algeria, Indonesia, Greece, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and other countries.
At the opening ceremony of the III International Apitherapy and Nature Congress, the Director of the Institute of Botany of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Professor Sayyara Ibadullayeva, delivered an opening speech, welcomed the guests, and wished success to the congress. She emphasized that the main purpose of holding this prestigious event in Azerbaijan was to discuss the latest scientific innovations related to the study of Azerbaijan’s nature, which is rich in flora and biodiversity, as well as valuable bee products derived from this natural environment, to expand international cooperation between institutions and researchers, and to pave the way for new research directions. The professor also spoke about the scientific research conducted at the Institute of Botany in the fields of biodiversity conservation and the study of natural therapeutic methods, and noted that the presentations and discussions to be held at the congress would be of great benefit to researchers and specialists. Speeches were delivered at the event by Elbrus Isayev, Rector of Nakhchivan State University; Oktay Yildiz, Rector of Gümüşhane University; Sevgi Kolayli, Professor at Karadeniz Technical University; Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary, Professor at the University of Karachi, Pakistan; and Elkhan Alakbarov, Chairman of the Union of Professional Beekeepers of Azerbaijan.
The congress continued its work in three halls with 11 sectional meetings and more than 80 poster presentations. In total, presentations by more than 150 researchers from eight countries were delivered in the sections.
