Basic scientific achievements

 The results of the study on “Expanding the assortment of plants in natural and cultural conditions, assessing biodiversity by population and introduction for the protection of the gene pool” show that these species develop well in the dry climate of Absheron. During the vegetation period, timely watering, proper agrotechnical care, timely application of fertilizers, and weeding are sufficient for the normal development of plants. These species are very decorative. Therefore, it can be recommended to use them as ornamental plants in the greening of Baku city, parks and gardens, and resort zones. Research is being conducted on 10 species of the genus Callistemon, purchased from Italian botanical gardens through exchange. Thus, these seeds were observed both in a specially prepared container with a substrate and in the “Memmert” apparatus in order to study the dependence of the germination percentage on temperature. At the same time: Eunyumus europaea, Hibiscus cannabinus, Myrtus communis L., Vitex agnus castus species were sown in open areas and observations are being conducted on them.
