Director of ANAS Institute of Botany, corresponding member of of ANAS Valida Alizadeh, chief researcher of the same institute, PhD in Agriculture Amrah Mammadov and young specialist Hatira Gasimova participated in the international conference "The use of quinoa for further food and nutrition security in the marginal environments" which took place on December 6-8, 2016 in Dubai, UAE.
The conference was held by organizational support of the International Centre for the Development of Agriculture in Saline Soils (ICBA), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and Zayed University.
The conference, which was attended by more than 200 researchers from around the world, heard the report A.Mammadov "Sustainability quinoa to salinity conditions in clay soils: first experience."
Azerbaijani delegation led by Valida Alizadeh, met with the Director General of the International Centre for the Development of Agriculture in Saline Soils (ICBA), Dr. Ismahane Elouafi, Director of ICBA Innovation Division, Dr. Schoaib Ismail, Director of state programs (Asian region) and head of the Office of the state programs of the Islamic Development Bank (Arab region) Mohammed Jamal Al-Saati.
At the meeting, were held discussions regarding the expansion of activities aimed at the restoration of phyto-saline soils, as well as the development of agriculture in the Kur-Araz lowland.
