Within the framework of the project “I planted a tree” with a support of the Youth Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the students of Baku State University and Baku Higher Oil School visited the Institute of Botany and Central Botanical Garden of ANAS. The next training on the project started with an excursion to the live collection of the CBG. Nargiz Aliyeva, scientific employee of the CBG gave broad information to the participants on the habitats of various plants (endemic and rare, medicinal and other plant species of the Azerbaijan) introduced to the garden, their importance and protection problems.
     The trainings continued at the one of laboratories of the Institute of Botany of ANAS. Dr. Latafat Mustafayeva, employee of the Department of Plant Resources of the Institute gave general information about the scientific –researches carried out with the medicinal plants, the role of biologically active substances and introduced the use rules of equipments employed for the preparation of plant materials to analysis.
     PhD student Shahla Mirzayeva provided information about valuable type samples, their storage condition and explained the process of their digitalization and inclusion to the European database. Young specialist Khanim Hasanova provided broad information about the exhibition “Green Treasure of Azerbaijan” introduced at the museum.
