Institute of Botany of ANAS has presented the new version of its website. Event was attended by specialists of Institute of Information Technology (IIT) and responsible persons of the Institute of Botany.

In advance, chief department of IIT Gulnara Nabibeyova gave detailed information about www.botany.az web-site.

G. Nabibeyova stated that, the website has been developed by the institute specialists in accordance with the “Requirements for creation and management of Internet sources of governmental bodies” approved by the Cabinet of Ministers and requirements of AR Special State Service.

She noted that, the web-site functions in Azerbaijani, Russian and English languages, and home page consists of sections - "About the Institute", "Scientific Activity", "Herbarium fund", "Scientists and specialists", "Councils", "Museum", "Scientific Publications" and " Gallery”. Also, it has been based on the latest technologies and comprehensive site search engine, site map and useful links are also available in it.

Then, sector chief of the institute Afruz Gurbanova reported about information policy of www.botany.az. She said that posting scientific activities of institute’s employees on the web-site plays a vital role in recognition of scientific achievements of Azerbaijan in botany by the international public. “News” section compiles information about institute’s activity, events, meetings carried out here, new editions, interviews, speeches and foreign visits, she added.

Programmer of the institute Sarkhan Yolchuyev made speech on privacy requirements and software providing of the web-site and stressed out that it was located on the Data Center of AzScienceNet Computer Network.

Data and photos of precious herbarium samples of the Institute of Botany, which were included in the Europe Virtual Center, are available on the “Herbarium Fund” section, as well as this web-site has a comprehensive search engine, he said.

Institute’s director, Academic Valida Alizadeh expressed her gratitude to the specialists of the Institute of Information Technology for creation of the web-site.
