ANAS Institute of Botany An event held meeting with the participation of representatives of the US Botanic Garden (USBG).

At the event, Director of the Institute, Academician Valida Alizadeh told about the memorandum on cooperation signed between the two structures, and brought to the attention that, this document will open wide opportunities for the exchange of experience and work on joint projects in the future.

Further, the main coordinator of USBG Andrew Banting, the leading coordinators in this field, Peter Zale (Longwood Gardens), Phil Douglas (Chicago Botanical Gardens), Vincent Morocco, Met Lobdel (Garden of Morris Arboretrum) and Heinrich Schomann (Gottenburg Botanical Gardens) delivered papers on the activities of the organizations which representatives they are.

During the visit, the guests conducted research in the field of wild-growing flora of Azerbaijan in the Zakatala, Gakh, Lerik, Lankaran regions. For protection of biological diversity samples which have been collected transferred to Seed Bank of institute.
