Academician Valida Alizadeh, the leading expert of the Intergovernmental Science and Policy Platform (IPBES), Europe and Asia, director of the Botany Institute, visited Bern, Switzerland.

      The visit was part of a consultative meeting of Pan-European stakeholders held by the Swiss Biodiversity Fund in Bern. Associate Professor Rashad Selimov, Head of Education Department of the Botanical Institute, also participated in this event as a member of the expert group on global assessment, consisting of young experts.

     The aim of the international biodiversity protection event was to present the IPBES Regional Report on Europe and Central Asia in Colombia, Medellin, in March of this year, and to discuss the implementation of the Global Compliance Review and the 2nd Review of Global Assessment.
