Within the framework of the international multidisciplinary program on biodiversity and ecosystem services, the first reconnoitering expedition to the Greater Caucasus was organized with the participation of employees of the Institute of Botany and the High Technologies Park of ANAS (north-eastern part of Azerbaijan). With the use of drone manufactured in PVT video and photography was taken, screening of localities conducted and pilot sites for the study of dynamics and nature of changes of key processes at ecosystem leveldetermined.
It is intended to reveal the influence of these processes on plant productivity, soil fertility, atmospheric chemistry, the spread of pathogens and many other local and global environmental conditions that ultimately affect human well-being. Homeostatic mechanisms of sustainability at different levels of the organization, including population parameters and the structure of communities will be defined. To assess the status of biodiversity, it is intended to identify indicators and drivers, which will help create conditions for recovery processes and sustainable development.
