On October 10, the first action of the “Green Wave” ecological movement was held at the initiative of the Baku European Lyceum, the Botany Institute of ANAS and the Central Botanical Garden, as well as the Seaside Boulevard Department within the framework of the International Child Diplomacy Center "Borderless Diplomacy" at the Seaside National Park.
October 6 - The aim of the ecological campaign dedicated to the World Day of Protection of Wildlife is to protect the endemic plants of Azerbaijan and attract the attention of the younger generation, which will take care of the future of the world community, in particular the mankind.
The pupils of the Baku European Lyceum, the Modern Education Complex, the capital's No. 6 and 132-134 schools participated in the action.
Head of the Department of Systematics and Biodiversity of the Institute of Botany of ANAS, Ph.D. Rashad Salimov gave the students an interactive lecture on Azerbaijani endemics.
Some of the participants of the action were planted a list of plants included in the Red Book of Azerbaijan and other endemic plants with experts in a specially allocated area in the Seaside National Park.
All the plants and herbs mentioned are the gifts of the Central Botanical Garden of ANAS.
