Leader of the Computer crystallography group of the Cambridge University of Great Britain and head of the laboratory of Computational structural biology of ANAS Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies, Professor Garib Murshudov held a scientific workshop on “The Role of Computational Methods in Molecular Biology” at ADA University.
The event, which was attended by rpresentatives of the scientific community of Azerbaijan, was moderated by Academician Roald Sagdeev.
Garib Murshudov is an author of over 100 articles, including those published in the journals Nature and Science. The results of his researches were presented in more than 60 scientific conferences. More than 45% of the information involved in Protein Data Base (PDB) is being analyzed using his programs. According to Google Scholar his researches are cited over 32,000 times and his h-factor is 47. The Cambridge Institute of Molecular Biology, where he is the head of the laboratory, is considered the most authoritative institution in the field of molecular research. At present, Institute has 14 Nobel Prize winners.
