On February 6, the first meeting of the newly created Dissertation Council at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology was held.
At the meeting, ANAS vice-president director of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, chairman of the Dissertation Council academician Irada Huseynova said that the council will defend dissertations of doctors of philosophy and doctors of sciences in the specialties of "Biochemistry", "Plant Physiology" and "Molecular Biology".
Irada Huseynova noted that the Dissertation Council established at the Institute consists of 18 people. According to her, 12 of them are reputable scientists working at the institute, while others are in various scientific organizations.
Further, the members of the Dissertation Council - corresponding member of ANAS Ilham Shahmuradov, doctors of biological sciences Saftar Suleymanov, Yashar Feyziev, Ziyaddin Mammadov, Vilayat Abdiev and others spoke in connection with the organization of the Council's activities at the level of modern scientific requirements, making transparent decisions on the topics of dissertations, prevention cases of plagiarism.
Summing up, Academician I. Huseynova said that all the proposals made during the discussions will be submitted to the Higher Attestation Commission.
