Society of Azerbaijani Botanists has been elected a member of the Botanic Gardens Conservation International

Society of Azerbaijan Botanists has been elected a member of the Botanic Gardens Conservation International (BGCI) in order to expand international scientific relations, train highly qualified staff, promote botany and develop biodiversity conservation activities.

Note that this society, established under the Institute of Botany of ANAS, represents 12 organizations in the country.

Headquartered in the United Kingdom and with regional offices in the United States, China, Kenya and Russia, BGCI has been bringing together botanical organizations from more than 100 countries to a global plant protection network since 1987.

The main purpose of the organization is to organize and manage innovative and strategic projects in the field of plant protection, to involve partners and members in ensuring plant diversity, to establish contacts in botanical gardens and the wider community, as well as to support plant protection and modern activities.
