Head of the Laboratory of Trees and Shrubs of the Central Botanical Garden of ANAS, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Elman Isgandar was elected a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (RANS).

The Azerbaijani scientist was awarded for his merits in the field of science and his activity in the development of relations with RANS.

Elman Isgandar took an active part in conferences, exhibitions and competitions dedicated to the 25th anniversary of RANS this year.

Note that the researcher has made a comparative study of the bioecological features, introduction, morphogenesis, reproduction and reintroduction of rare and endangered trees and shrubs of the flora of Azerbaijan.

He is also the author of 155 scientific works and 8 books on "Botany". Numerous scientific works of E. Isgandar have been published in prestigious journals in Russian and English.
