The article “Phenolic fingerprint in wild growing pomegranate fruits from Azerbaijan” co-authored by Aydan Zeynalova, researcher of Department of Plant Resources and prof. Dr. Eldar Novruzov, director of scientific works of the Institutewas published in the prestigious journal “Advances in Horticultural Science”of Italy (Number 34, 2020, 3rd issue).

The mentioned article has been devoted to the study of the quantitative and qualitative composition of biologically active substances in the juice of wild pomegranate within a joint study with scientists from the Institute for Sustainable Plant Protection of the National Research Council of Italy(CNR-IPSP).

The results of the article show that wild pomegranate samples grown in Azerbaijan are a promising source of biologically active metabolites and can be used as a donor in the creation of new varieties with high nutritional and medical properties in selection programs under stress.
