The organizing committee invited the Society of Azerbaijan Botanists (SAB) to participate in an online meeting in order to establish the Federation of European Botanical Societies.The planned activity is aimed at organizing 2029 International BotanicalCongress. President of the Society of Azerbaijan Botanists, academician Valida Ali-zade, executive secretary, Dr. Dilzara Agayeva and Director of the Central Botanical Garden, Dr. Vahid Farzaliyev represented the Society ofAzerbaijan Botanists at the event. The online meeting, which was attended by Azerbaijan along witha number of European countries such as Italy, Denmark, France, Croatia, Spain covered issues such as membership to societies, excursions, study of international botanical heritage, execution of joint researches, project development, seminars and symposiums.

It should be noted that the previously signed memorandum of cooperation between the Society of Azerbaijan Botanists and the Italian Botanical Society played an important role in involving the SAB in the establishment of the federation.

This step promotes the integration of the Republic of Azerbaijan into European countries in the field of nature protection and sustainable development.
