Vice-President of ANAS, Director General of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (IMBB), Academician Irada Huseynova met with Deputy Chairman of the Food Safety Agency (AQTA) Zakiyya Mustafayeva and Director of the Center for Analytical Expertise under the Azerbaijan Food Safety Institute Khalid Bayramli.
The meeting was attended by Director General of the Institute of Microbiology, corresponding member of ANAS Panah Muradov, Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs of IMBB, PhD in Biology, Associate Professor Alamdar Mammadov, scientists of IMBB and the Institute of Zoology.
Academician Irada Huseynova informed the guests about the research work carried out at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology on plant diseases, the conditions created in the relevant laboratories and the material and technical base meeting modern requirements, as well as cooperation with international centers. He spoke about the potential of experienced staff at the institute and introduced the guests to leading specialists.
AQTA Deputy Chairman Zakiyya Mustafayeva stressed the importance of joint research in the field of plant health. He also said that the exchange of experience in this field will contribute to the development of cooperation, and hopes for the support of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences in scientific and theoretical research and training for the agency's laboratories. Zakiyya Mustafayeva invited Academician Irada Huseynova to AQTA together with specialists.
Then Khalid Bayramli informed about the proposals for joint activities.
The meeting also discussed the effective identification of plant quarantine diseases, problems related to the export of Azerbaijani agricultural products, ensuring a permanent dialogue between specialists and other issues of common interest.
