Vice-president of ANAS, Academician Irada Huseynova has delivered a speech on "Prospects for the development of Agrarian science in Zangazur economic regions" in the field seminar entitled “Rehabilitation of infrastructure of Karabakh Scientific Research Base of ANAS Institute of Genetic Resources, organization of sowing of wheat and barley varieties created for the region” dedicated to the Victory Day in Shikharkh settlement of Tartar region.
The Vice President wished success to the event held in Karabakh with the support of the President of ANAS, Academician Ramiz Mehdiyev that is important for the development of scientific and agrarian spheres of the country. Noting that the academic seminar was the first event held by the Department of Biological and Medical Sciences of ANAS in the land of ancient Karabakh after the occupation, she honored our martyrs and prayed for God's mercy.
Providing information about the Karabakh Scientific Research Base, the academician said that the base was established in 1950-1989 on about 1,700 hectares of land. The organization and dissemination of primary seed and breeding work of plant varieties and animal breeds was carried out: “In this regional center, which has a special role in the development of agrarian science, leading scientists of Azerbaijan, academicians - Jalal Aliyev, Imam Mustafayev, Ilyas Abdullayev, Alakbar Guliyev and others have contributed to the development and application of the results in production. I would like to emphasize that the USSR-India International Symposium on Mulberry was held at a high level in 1970 at the Karabakh Scientific Research Base and was attended by a large number of people from many countries, including India, China, Japan, Vietnam and the former USSR. scientists and specialists, she noted.
