Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences has joined the next tree planting campaign within the “Green Marathon” campaign organized by the IDEA Public Union and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.
In the village of Khojasan, Binagadi region of Baku, employees of the Department of Biological and Medical Sciences of ANAS have planted a large number of trees of different species.
Vice-President of ANAS Academician Irada Huseynova, General Director of the Institute of Microbiology, corresponding member of ANAS Panah Muradov, General Director of the Central Botanical Garden of ANAS Natig Allahverdiyev, Executive Director of the Central Botanical Garden Hasan Babayev and others have participated in the tree planting action.
Note that the main goal of the “Green Marathon” is to increase green spaces, popularize tree planting and contribute to environmental protection, including increasing the biodiversity of our country's flora and raising awareness of the protection of green spaces.
The memory of famous statesmen Aziz Aliyev and Professor Tamerlan Aliyev was also honored, flowers were laid to their graves.
