A regular meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies was held in a hybrid format on February 9. Opening the meeting, Vice-President of ANAS, Director General of the Institute, Academician Irada Huseynova informed the members of the council about the agenda. The meeting discussed the candidacy of Mahira Mammadova, PhD, associate professor, who participated in the competition for the vacant position of the head of the Plant Biotechnology Laboratory. It was considered to approve her as the head of the laboratory and in this regard, it was decided to apply to the Division of Biological and Medical Sciences of ANAS. Scientific trip of the leading researcher of the Bioadaptation laboratory, PhD in biology, associate professor Samira Rustamova to the Department of Plant Genetics and Biotechnology at the Institute of Crop Science and Resource Conservation (INRES), University of Bonn, Germany to continue research on the project “Development of a conceptual model of stress tolerance mechanism based on determining the interrelation between the expression of key genes responsible for drought tolerance in wheat and the metabolome", the organization of scientific research and scientific-pedagogical internships of second-year master students who successfully completed the winter exam session in the 2021/2022 academic year and other organizational issues were discussed. Thus, the 2nd meeting of the Scientific Council completed its work.
