The Institute of Dendrology has identified 64 species of the genus Rosa L.
The institute told AZERTAC that currently there are 64 species of Rosa L. in Azerbaijan, which used to be 40 species. Recent studies have shown that many species belonging to the genus Rosa L. are not included in the Red Book, including the list of rare, endangered plants. These plants were first discovered in our country by prominent Azerbaijani scientists. Their area is only Azerbaijan. Employees of the institute have identified a total of 34 species, including 9 new species in the "Red Book" and 25 species in the list of rare and endangered plants.
Last year, the Institute of Dendrology published a book entitled "Hip sex in Azerbaijan in natural and cultural conditions." In addition, work is underway on the first volume of the book "Taxonomic Spectrum of Absheron Flora" last year. The book is expected to be in 8 volumes. The institute also conducts extensive research on the impact of climate change on biodiversity.
