A meeting of working groups of ANAS on the preparation of the third edition of the "Red Book" of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held in the assembly hall of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies of ANAS.
In the hybrid format chaired by the vice-president of ANAS, academician Irada Huseynova, scientists and specialists of the Institutes of Botany, Zoology, Dendrology of ANAS and the Central Botanical Garden, including Tofig Mammadov, corresponding member of ANAS, doctor of biological sciences, professor, attended the event. Sayyare Ibadullayeva, doctors of biological sciences, professors Elman Iskander, Elshad Ahmadov, Aydin Askerov, as well as senior researcher of the Institute of Bioresources of the Nakhchivan Department of ANAS, academician Tariyel Talibov, department head of Baku State University, corresponding member of ANAS Elshad Gurbanov, Ganja State Vagif Novruzov, head of the department of the university, correspondent member of ANAS and others participated.
Academician Irada Huseynova, who opened the meeting with an introductory speech, said that the consistent and purposeful activities related to the new edition were started in 2019, informed the participants about the relevant works, scientific and scientific-organizational measures carried out by the editorial staff, working groups, scientific institutions and scientists of the 3rd edition of ANAS in the past period.
After the presentations, discussions were held, future directions of action were specified, prospects and problems were discussed, and numerous proposals were made for their solution. Academician Tariyel Talibov, corresponding members of ANAS Elshad Gurbanov, Tofig Mammadov, Vagif Novruzov, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Sayyare Ibadullayeva, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Elman Iskander, Doctor of Biological Sciences Aydin Askerov, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Elshad Ahmadov, Biological Sciences Doctor, Associate Professor Dilzare Aghayeva, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Naiba Mehdiyeva, Doctor of Philosophy in Biology, Associate Professor Parvana Karakhani, Doctor of Philosophy in Agrarian Sciences Aladdin Eyvazov, Natig Allahverdiyev and other participants spoke and expressed their attitudes to the issues.
Concluding the discussions, Academician Irada Huseynova talked about the importance of the event and the steps to be taken after that, pointed out that constant consultations will be held with the specialists of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, and gave recommendations and tasks in the direction of intensifying the implementation of existing plans.
In the end, it was decided to hold regular meetings of relevant working groups.
