“The Red book of Karabakh will be prepared,” Head of "Systematics and Biodiversity" department of the Institute of Botany of ANAS, Doctor of Biological Sciences Aydin Asgarov told APA.

“Both the Institute of Botany and the Institute of Genetic Resources are conducting research on Rare and endangered plants of Karabakh. There are at least 800 rare higher plant species in the area. We have identified them based on fund materials, herbariums. In the 80s, while leading the Department of Systematics and Herbarium at the Institute of Botany of ANAS, I organized numerous expeditions to Karabakh and the Azerbaijani-Armenian border.” noted Aydin Asgarov.
