The general meeting of the “Society of Azerbaijan Botanists” public association was held at the Institute of Botany of ANAS. The online meeting was attended by the management personnel of Society of Azerbaijan Botanists (SAB). Opening the event, deputy chairman of the society, academician Tariyel Talibov acquainted the participants with the current issues. Executive secretary of the SAB, Dr. Dilzara Agayeva presented the 3-year report of the society and answered the questions arisen. Dr. Naiba Mehdiyeva provided detailed information on financial issues. The meeting continued with broad discussions on the re-selection of management personnel, restoration of the official website (botanysociety.com.az), the logo and format of publications.

Members of public association, corresponding members of ANAS Vagif Novruzov, Tofig Mammadov, Dr., prof. Sayyara Ibadullayeva, Dr., prof. Eldar Novruzov, Dr. Aydin Asgarov and others made proposals and recommendations on the future activities of the SAB. By voting, the executive director of the Institute of Botany of ANAS, Dr. Shakir Gasimov was elected the chairman, Dr. Nuri Movsumova the executive secretary of the SAB public association. Financial issues were entrusted to PhD Gulnar Gasimova. The issues on the agenda were put to a vote and a unanimous decision was made.
