Head of the Department of Experimental Botany of the Institute of Botany, Ph.D. in biology, associate professor Aladdin Gadimov, Ph.D. in biology Zumrud Abbasova, Ph.D. in biology Sima Ganizadeh, Ph.D. in biology Sadagat Rasulova, junior researchers Fidan Alaskarova and Nihal Mustafayeva visited the Tovuz region. The purpose of the expedition was to determine the distribution areas of the agriculturally important Amaranth plant in accordance with the thematic work plan. The location, GPS coordinates, condition and dangers of the amaranth plant growing wild around the villages of Eyyublu, Duz Girili, Alacol, Ibrahimhajili, Yanigli, Esrik Jirdakhan and Duz Jırdakhan of Tovuz region were specified by the collaborators. Along with plant samples, soil samples were taken from the area. In the next studies, indicators such as microbiota of plant and soil samples, soil electrical conductivity and pH, determination of total nitrogen, protein and non-protein nitrogen, proteins will be carried out.
