The next meeting of the working group of botanists on the preparation of the third edition of the "Red Book" of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held under the chairmanship of the vice-president of ANAS, academician Irada Huseynova.
Academician Irada Huseynova drew attention to the importance of speeding up the works related to the finalization and writing of the III edition of the "Red Book" of the Republic of Azerbaijan, reminded the issues raised at the meeting of the editorial staff and working groups of the ANAS of the III edition held a few days ago, as well as the results obtained at the Zoology working group meeting. informed about the agreements. The speaker pointed out that botanists should also discuss these agreements.
Academician Irada Huseynova once again brought to the attention of the participants that the III edition will be a valuable contribution to the implementation of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On the declaration of 2023 as the "Year of Heydar Aliyev" in the Republic of Azerbaijan."
Then the general director of the Institute of Botany, doctor of biological sciences, professor Sayyara Ibadullayeva made a speech and informed about the done and planned works, and said that some issues regarding the III edition of the "Red Book" were widely discussed with the scientists working in the regions in recent days.
Then the executive director of the institute, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Shakir Gasimov, Head of Department, Doctor of Biological Sciences Aydin Asgarov, Head of the Laboratory, Doctor of Philosophy in Biology Rashad Salimov, Leading Researcher, Doctor of Philosophy in Biology Elman Yusifov and others spoke and discussed each expressed their attitude to an issue and gave suggestions. General agreement was reached on the formats of both species essays, distribution maps, and references, as well as evaluation criteria.
Concluding the event, Academician Irada Huseynova pointed out that the working groups will be discussed with the authorized persons of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources for the quick conclusion of the works related to the "Red Book", and gave recommendations and tasks in this direction.
