The annual reports of the young scientists of the ANAS Department of Biological and Medical Sciences have been listened

In the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the annual reports of the institutes of the Biological and Medical Sciences Division of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists (CYSS) of ANAS. Reports were presented by CYSS chairmen of 8 institutes belonging to the scientific department.

The event began with a one-minute silence commemorating the souls of martyrs who heroically died in the 44-day Patriotic War.

The chairman of ANAS CYSS, PhD in chemistry Elmir Babayev who opened the report with an introductory speech, first congratulated the young people on the occasion of the upcoming Victory Day and talked about the path of victory we have passed, our heroic martyrs and veterans. E. Babayev CYSS emphasized that the institutes of DBMS are always active in scientific and social activities, and wished them success.

 

The report session began with the report of Nargiz Bayramova, the chairwoman of CYSS of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies, and also the secretary of the Department of Biological and Medical Sciences of CYSS. The speaker informed about the international and local conferences and events attended by young scientists of the institute in current year, as well as grant projects, and announced the number of scientific works published during the year. N. Bayramova especially emphasized that one of the most important achievements of this year was the awarding of the 2022 Presidential Youth Award to Lala Akhundova, a junior researcher at the Population Genomics Laboratory of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology.

Aydan Zeynalova, the chairwoman of CYSS, representing the Institute of Botany, drew attention to both the scientific and social activities of the institute's young scientists and researchers. She gave information about the published articles and theses, as well as the active participation of young people in local and international conferences. A. Zeynalova also spoke about the work done at the institute in the direction of expanding scientific activity.

 

Leyla Nadirli, chairwoman of CYSS of the Institute of Zoology, spoke about the events held in her institution according to the plan of events, speeches in the mass media, visits and publications, and emphasized the active participation of young people.

In his report, the chairwoman of CYSS of the Institute of Physiology, Narmin Baghirova, talked about the events organized by the council in the current year. N.Baghirova also informed about the young people actively participating in the summer camp of young scientists organized jointly by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Council of Young Scientists and Experts.

Ayten Aliyeva, who presented the annual report on the Institute of Microbiology, spoke about the tasks set before CYSS, the comprehensive measures implemented, and said that the institute is currently implementing practical projects in a number of fields with the Scientific-Research Institute of Fruit and Tea Cultivation of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Scientific-Research Institute of Vegetables noted.

During the report presented by Leyla Atayeva, the head of the CYSS of the Institute of Dendrology, it was noted that in the current year, the young people of the institute have 22 fully published, 5 printed theses of which 16 international, 11 local, 14 fully published, 11 printed theses, including 13 international, 12 local. The chairwoman also emphasized that young people were awarded 26 certificates in 2022, preliminary discussion of 4 dissertations, defense of 1 dissertation, and 2 charity events organized by the council.

 

Chairwoman of CYSS of the Institute of Genetic Resources, Gunel Musayeva, in her report, said that Sabina Farhadova, a researcher at the Institute's Laboratory of Molecular Genetics and Genomics, successfully defended her dissertation on "Study of epigenetic mechanisms that cause human imprinting diseases on mouse embryonic stem cell models" on June 9, 2022 at the University of Montpellier. noted and emphasized that this achievement is a great success not only for the institute, but for the entire department.

Tarlan Yelmarlı, Chairman of CYSS, representing the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry, spoke about the scientific-practical conferences and events organized by young scientists and specialists in their institutes related to the events and commemoration days of special importance for the republic.

At the end of the reports, the department's report was highly appreciated, ideas were exchanged to optimize and further advance the future activities of the council, the activeness of young people in the scientific and social spheres.
