Scientific relations are being established between the Kunming Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Institute of Botany, MSE RA

Prof. Sun Hang, Director of Kunming Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS), China, Prof. Deng Tao, Curator of KUN, Kunming Institute of Botany, CAS, China, Prof. Zhou Jie, Director of Kunming Branch of Chinese Academy of Sciences, China, and Dr. Zhu Weidong, Head of Administration of Kunming Institute of Botany, CAS, China are on a business trip to the Institute of Botany, MSE RA.

The visit aimed at signing the MoU with the Institute of Botany and discussing future joint projects. During the meeting, doctor of biological sciences, professor Sayyara Ibadullayeva expressed her satisfaction with the meeting with them at the Institute of Botany. The professor talked about the scientific-research directions, international relations, implemented projects and future targets of the Institute and the prospects for establishing cooperation ties were widely discussed.

Expressing his gratitude for the detailed information, prof. Sun Hang, Director of Kunming Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences highly assessed the scientific activity of the Institute and stressed the possibility of establishing bilateral ties in the field of scientific research.

The meeting continued with the discussion of development prospects, exchange of personnel and experience and other issues of mutual interest. The guests were presented with the 3rd edition of the “Red Book” of Azerbaijan and keepsakes.

The scientists got acquainted with the storage condition of the herbarium samples belonging to local and foreign flora in the Algoteca and Herbarium Fund of the Institute and activities on the inclusion of herbarium in the European DataBase.

MoU was signed between the Kunming Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Botany, MSE RA

MoU envisages the joint research of the plant and fungi diversity, study of the same plant species found in the flora of both countries, exchange of plant specimens, molecular-genetic analysis, organization of joint project, exchange of personnel experience and etc.

In the end, the guests expressed their satisfaction with the visiting the IoB and wished success to the Institute’s activities.
