The book “Forgotten recipes of folk medicine (from the memories of West Azerbaijan, East Zangezur and Karabakh communities)” was published.

The book “Forgotten recipes of folk medicine (from the memories of West Azerbaijan, East Zangezur and Karabakh communities)” by doctor of biological sciences, professor Sayyara Ibadullayeva, general director of the Institute of Botany, MSE RA was published. The book was published within the framework of scientific research program “Prospects of the use of medicinal plants distributed in the flora of Azerbaijan”.

The book contains information collected as a result of ethnobotanical surveys about the healing effects of more than 150 plants and plant collections, and their methods of use, which remain in the memory of the communities of West Azerbaijan, East Zangezur and Karabakh with the pictures of plants.

Scientific editors of the book are vice-president of ANAS, academician, doctor of biological sciences, professor Irada Huseynova, and head of the Department of Botany and Plant Physiology of Baku State University, corresponding member of ANAS, doctor of biological sciences, professor Elshad Gurbanov, reviewers are executive director of the Institute of Botany, doctor of biological sciences, professor Shakir Gasimov, director of the Center for Scientific Research in Integrative Medicine, Head of the "Modeling and Experimental Therapy of Pathological Processes" Department of the Scientific Research Center of Azerbaijan Medical University, doctor of medical sciences, professor Fikriya Ibrahimova and head of the Department of Pharmacognosy of Azerbaijan Medical University, doctor of pharmaceutical sciences, professor Javanshir Isayev.

Thanks to the Victorious Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev, our people and our brave army, our compatriots who were separated from their lands for 30 years are now returning to their homeland. The main goal of the work prepared as a contribution to this historical event is to introduce the “Great Return” communities to the plants that distributed in their region and teach them how to use them.

The book will be presented to communities that have returned to their native lands as an important resource.
