Aytac Muradova, a researcher at the Algology and Lichenobryology Laboratory of the Institute of Botany of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was on a business trip to Dokuz Eylul University located in Izmir, Turkey. The purpose of the visit was to carry out scientific research on the collected algae samples on her dissertation entitled “Systematics, bioecological characteristics and scientific basis of use of macrophytes of the southern shores of the Caspian (Azerbaijani part)”. She conducted research on the identified samples collected from 15 destination points from the southern shores of the Caspian Sea (Lankaran, Astara districts) during 2022-2023 at Dokuz Eylul University.
During the study, an extract of the sample was obtained, silver nanoparticles were synthesized, silver nanoparticles obtained by the effect of algae extract were characterized, and the effect of chemical and physical factors was determined. Ulva lactuca and Ulva compressa species were comparatively studied by HPLC (high performance liquid chromatography) method.
In the end, she held a scientific seminar at the Institute of Botany with a presentation on the results of her scientific mission.
