The book “Fungi of forest trees in Azerbaijan, their taxonomy and phylogeny” by doctor of biological sciences, associate professor Dilzara Aghayeva, head of the Department of Mycology of the Institute of Botany, MSE RA was published.

The scientific editor of the book is general director of the Institute of Botany, doctor of biological sciences, professor Sayyara Ibadullayeva, and the reviewers are doctors of biological sciences, professor Elshad Huseynov and professor Shakir Gasimov.

The presented monograph is devoted to the study of the species composition, taxonomy and phylogeny of mycobiota of forest trees. In the monograph, by applying classical and modern mycological methods, the study of fungi belonging to the divisions of Ascomycota and Basidiomycota found in forest tree species in Azerbaijan was reflected.

The book also presents indicators such as the taxonomic status of the species, their description, the place of collection, and the analysis of pathogenic and potentially pathogenic species with molecular approaches.

The book provides the scientific basis for the development of measures to combat fungal diseases of trees and is intended for specialists working in the field of biology, agriculture, students of the biology faculties of universities, masters, doctoral students and scientific researchers specializing in mycology and phytopathology.
