For the first time in our country, the multi-volume "Flora of Azerbaijan" will be published in Azerbaijani language.

Professor Sayyara Ibadullayeva, general director of the Institute of Botany of the Ministry of Science and Education, informed about this in an interview with AZERTAC. The professor said that certain works have already been started to prepare the book for publication.

Information about the flora of Uzbekistan, China, Great Britain, Turkey, Hungary and other countries was obtained.

Previously, 4200 plant species were registered in the flora of Azerbaijan. As a result of scientific research conducted in recent years, new species of plants have also been found. Thus, the number of plant species in the flora of Azerbaijan is more than 4700.

Information will be provided about all plant species registered in “Flora of Azerbaijan”, which will be published in ten volumes. This multivolume will be a valuable source for Azerbaijani science, especially our botanical science.
