The article “The 2030 Declaration on Scientific Plant and Fungal Collecting” co-authored by doctor of biological sciences, professor Sayyara Ibadullayeva, General Director of the Institute of Botany, MSE RA and doctor of biological sciences, associate professor Dilzara Aghayeva was published in prestigious “Plants, People, Planet” journal. The components of this Declaration were identified, discussed extensively in a number of plenary and sectional meetings in international “State of the World's Plants and Fungi Symposium” held at the Royal Botanic Gardens (Kew, UK) in 2023 and compiled in the form of paper. Researchers from 47 different organizations participated in the preparation of the article.

The Declaration sets out the following five commitments to catalog the world’s flora and fauna diversity, maximize the effectiveness of cooperation, facilitate knowledge sharing and promote equal cooperation: using evidence-based collection strategies; local capacity building; collaboration across taxa and disciplines; collect for the future; benefit distribution. Efforts to promote these commitments at international, regional, national and local botanical and mycological events are recommended.

It should be noted that the aim of the journal is to provide a forum to highlight and discuss new, interesting and innovative plant-based research in various fields. For 2022, the index of this journal on the Scopus database is 8.5, the impact factor on the Clarivate database - 5.1, and the reference index - 1.13.
