On the eve of the “Science Day”, scientific secretary of the Institute of Botany, Doctor of Philosophy in Biology Nigar Mursal was awarded with the diploma “Young Scientist of the Year” of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.

Nigar Mursal was awarded this diploma for her outstanding scientific activity among young scientists. It should be noted that the scientific secretary of the Institute of Botany, Dr. in Philosophy Nigar Mursal, studied for a dissertation at the Institute of Botany in 2017-2021 and successfully defended it receiving the title of young scientist. She participated in a number of local and international training courses (Germany, Great Britain), conferences and was awarded certificates. Based on the results of her scientific research, 46 scientific papers were published in journals, indexed in local and international databases (Web of Science, Scopus, RSCI). She is one of the compilers of the 3rd edition (2023) of the “Red Book” of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Currently, she is studying at the dissertation stage in preparation for the doctoral degree of the Institute and is conducting research on the topic “Modern taxonomic analysis and protection of endemic plants of the flora of Azerbaijan”.
