A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Institute of Botany, MSE RA and Nakhchivan State University. The signing of the memorandum took place at the opening event of the international scientific-practical conference “New Challenges in Ensuring the Sustainability of Biodiversity (COP29) - Green World and Human Health” dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic which was co-organized by the authorized representation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Nakhchivan State University, the Institute of Botany of the Ministry of Science and Education and the Public Union of the Society of Azerbaijan Botanists.

According to the memorandum signed by the rector of Elbrus Isayev, Nakhchivan State University and the professor Sayyara Ibadullayeva, general director of the Institute of Botany, MSE RA, establishment and development of relations in relevant directions; joint cooperation in the field of personnel training; implementation of joint activity on scientific researches; organization of joint expeditions; study of the geographical ranges of endemic species common in the flora of Nakhchivan; international and joint scientific researches to clarify the areas of their formation; collection of plant samples; implementation of joint scientific research projects for clarification and assessment of their modern taxonomic structure; as well as defining the framework of cooperation in other areas of mutual interest are considered.
