Alexey Reteyum, Director for Development of All-Russian Society for Nature Conservation, Artyom Parshin, landscape architect at M.V.Lomonosov Moscow State University, Leading Researcher of the Natural Flora Laboratory of the Federal State Budgetary Institution for Science of the Main Botanical Garden of RAS named after N.V. Tsitsina, Vice-President of the Russian Society of Botanists, PhD Stepan Alexandrovich Senator, were a guest of the Institute of Botany, MSERA.
The meeting, which was attended by the General Director of the Institute of Botany, Professor Sayyara Ibadullayeva, and other scientists of the Institute, discussed the establishment of cooperative relations and promising trees and shrubs for increasing urban greenery.
S. Ibadullayeva informed the guests about the scientific research directions of the Institute of Botany, its international relations, implemented joint projects, and achieved achievements. Institute's Botany Museum, Herbarium Fund, and laboratories were introduced to the guests. The herbarium specimens of local and foreign flora stored in the Herbarium Fund and the work carried out to digitize them aroused the interest of the guests.
In conclusion, Russian scientists highly appreciated the prospects for cooperation, emphasizing the broad opportunities for the exchange of personnel and experience, joint projects, the organization of expeditions, and the exchange of herbarium materials. The parties reached a preliminary agreement to sign a memorandum of cooperation.
