The 1st Republican Scientific Conference “Organic and Sustainable Agriculture: Ecological Balance and Sustainable Development” is held at Nakhchivan State University with the joint organization of Nakhchivan State University, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the Ministry of Economy of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the Institute of Botany MSERA, the Institute of Genetic Resources MSERA, the Scientific Research Institute of Plant Protection and Technical Plants of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the Azerbaijan Poultry Meat, Egg Producers and Exporters Association.

 The main topic of discussion of the conference was the promotion of organic products in the agricultural sector, which is included in the "State Program on the Socio-Economic Development of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic for 2023-2027".

 Speeches at the plenary session of the conference were delivered by Rafail Guliyev, the Minister of Agriculture of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Kazim Huseynaliyev, the Minister of Economy of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Professor Sayyara Ibadullayeva, General Director of the Institute of Botany, MSERA, Corresponding Member of ANAS Ibrahim Jafarov, General Director of the Scientific Research Institute of Plant Protection and Technical Plants of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Zeynal Akbarov, corresponding member of ANAS, General Director of the Institute of Genetic Resources, and Murvat Hasanli, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Azerbaijan Poultry Meat, Egg Producers and Exporters Association.

A total of 26 organizations from various higher education, research and applied institutions of our country, Turkey and Norway participated in the conference. 108 scientific articles were presented by 172 scientists.

The conference will continue on June 4-5 with 4 panels organized around 4 main directions.

 These panels will discuss topics such as plant breeding and plant protection, biodiversity and wildlife conservation, organic farming and animal husbandry, and macro and micro pollutants in agricultural facilities.
