A scientific seminar entitled “Current Problems of Antifouling Paints and Biocides” was held at the Institute of Botany, MSERA presented by Dr. Levent Çavaş, Professor of the Department of Biochemistry at Dokuz Eylül University, Turkey.
At a seminar with the participation of Institute employees, L.Çavaş noted that pollution is one of the main sources of energy loss, economic damage, and environmental changes in maritime transport. The development of antifouling technologies plays an important role in reducing these problems. The scientist emphasized that future research will include the development of nanomaterials, bioactive natural substances, and environmentally friendly coatings that provide both effective and sustainable solutions. The topic was met with interest by the participants, and extensive discussions were held around the questions.
