Professor Dr. Tuncay Dirmenci and Professor Dr. Bayram Yıldız, members of the Department of Biology Education of the Necatibey Faculty of Education of the Balıkesir University of Turkey, visited the Institute of Botany PLE.

The purpose of the visit was to conduct research on herbarium specimens of the flora of Azerbaijan and bordering countries within the scope of the publication "Illustrated Flora of Turkey" and to analyze these specimens comparatively with the plant species existing in the Turkish flora.

For three days, the guests conducted systematic research on specimens belonging to the Asteraceae, Lamiaceae, Rosaceae and Fabaceae families stored in the Herbarium Fund. They also examined in detail the Stachys, Satureja, Thymus, Cirsium, Crataegus and Onobrychis genera belonging to the flora of Azerbaijan and the Caucasus.
